Ginger Baker is one of the greatest drummers of all time.  Cream, Blind Faith, to his astronomical jazz drumming talents, there are few better.

Cream was always a tension filled band with Baker, Jack Bruce on bass, and Eric Clapton out front.  Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce had a very volatile relationship, and in the end, egos trumped, and Cream broke up.

L to R:  Clapton, Baker, Bruce.

Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker would roll into Blind Faith, with Steve Winwood and Ric Grech.  What a creative era in rock and roll.  Great players, awesome albums, and the most disfunctional relationships around.  Beautiful!

From all the ex-wives, kids without a Dad around, to his heroin addiction, Ginger Baker's personal life has not been good.  There are no losers in life, only bad examples.  Ginger has literally been kicked out of almost every country he's called home.  His drumming life, has been nothing short of amazing!

The documentary, 'Beware of Mr. Baker,' starts tonight at the Belcourt Theatre in Hillsboro Village, through Feb.7th.  Go see it, and live the stories of one of the great drumming pioneers in Rock and Roll.
