Seems like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been around forever, but no! It was this date, Januray 23, 1986, that the very first induction ceremony was held in New York.
There was bidding all over the country for where the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would land, and of course, it went to Cleveland.

The honorees included performers Chuck Berry, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Elvis Presley.
There's a whole lot of drama stories with that pack of artists!
Check out some young and sadly, still not around, faces from that night.
