Jon Anderson has been the voice of a generation, being out front as the vocalist for Yes.
My 'classic' Yes line-up was Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and Alan White. WOW! What a talented band.
There have been many line-up changes over the years, and right now Yes tours with a guy who might sound a lot like Jon Anderson, but has turned that band into a tribute act.
Geezer has been the driving force on bass in Black Sabbath during the bands strongest years. Check out the Black Sabbath family tree.
Geezer's great friend, Ronnie James Dio, died last year, and they were together in the band Heaven and Hell. There's a live DVD of Ronnie James final performance: Heaven and Hell
The legendary singer from the Guess Who has a new album out called, "Above the Ground." Burton sounds as soulful, and powerful as ever on his new record, which has 19 songs on it. There's also a great DVD that shows the recording of the album.
I was the drummer in a band called Government Cheese. We hauled a 8mm film camera around for years. This song is off our album (it was an actual record album) 'Three Chords, No Waiting.'
This is 'Camping on Acid.' It doesn't promote taking acid or camping.
I was bit by the 'Infinity' album, and I've been a Journey fan ever since. I remember seeing Journey and The Baby's at Municipal Auditorium in 1980.
Ironically, that was the audition tour where Jonathan Cain would move on and join Journey. It was cool to have him in the studio.
Some of the most familiar piano hooks come from the hands of Jonathan Cain. Don't Stop Believing, Who's Crying Now, Open Arms, Faithfully, you name it, Jonathan has had a huge impact on the band.
One of the best bands out of the 1970's was America. These dudes were Air Force Brats. American fathers and British mothers. Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley, and Dan Peek had a unique sound that involved Tin Men, Lonesome people, and the tropic of Sir Galahad.
America gets their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, February 6th.
Don't you wish you could just pick up a guitar and do this!?
What a great era for concerts. Here's what Led Zeppelin was doing in 1972. Led Zeppelin IV or, Four Symbols, The Fourth Album, sold over 23 million in the States alone. I miss my huge speakers.
