Paul McCartney kicks off the North American leg of his 2013 Out There tour this weekend.
"Macca" and his band open things up over two nights, Saturday and Sunday (May 18th and 19th), at Orlando, Florida's Amway Center. The tour -- which is the former Beatle's busiest road trek since 2005 -- will take in 20 shows over a leisurely 12 weeks playing to both indoor arenas, stadiums, and outdoor festivals.
Of course, Sir Paul has two planned stops in Tennessee, the first being May 26th in Memphis. Our own PD and evening man Mud will be in attendance for that show. Then, June 14th will be a big day for me as I head down to Coffee County to see Paul and his band headline the 2013 edition of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival! After seeing Ringo last summer at the Ryman, it will be two Beatles in a year for me!!
Back in my college days, there was a guy who used to snort vodka up his nose. We called it a "nose toast." Now, there's a new viral video of a Czech woman drinking a beer through her ear! Fake?? Not sure. I've watched it several times and it's hard to tell where the beer is going if not in her ear. Have yet to figure this one out!
Regular people all over the country are surrounded every day by gun-toting, cowboy boot-wearing, country bumpkins. You know the type—they’re the folks who you run into at Walmart at 1 a.m.; NASCAR is their religion; and high school was just something they did for a couple of years, like flared jeans or TiVo were for the rest of us.
The rednecks.
Now, I don’t use this term negatively at all. In fact, thanks to Jeff Foxworthy with his hundreds of “you might be a redneck” jokes, the term has been adopted fondly, proudly, by these tobaccie-spittin’ folk.
According to a new Top 10 list from movoto.com, NASHVILLE ranked number 4 in that list. Drum roll please - here are your top 10 Most Redneck Cities in the U-S:
10) Meza, AZ
9) Cleveland, OH
8) Sacramento, CA
7) Arlington, TX
6) Fort Worth, TX
5) Tulsa, OK
4) NASHVILLE, TN
3) Oklahoma City, OK
2) Kansas City, MO
And the number one Most Redneck City in America is...
1) Atlanta, GA!
A BBC radio host had to be taken off air during her final show after listeners complained that she sounded "drunk".
Paula White's last stint as BBC Radio Stoke's afternoon presenter on Friday afternoon ended earlier than expected after she slurred and stumbled her way through the first 30 minutes of her live show.
"For the last time on lunchtime let's ssssssssssay you pick the music", the popular presenter drawled.
"It's a P-A-R-T-Y because I said sooooo... Some people will say, 'Oh, thank goodness she's gone.'"
Ms White confessed that she'd had "a couple of drinks" but denied being intoxicated.
"I'm not drunk, I've had a couple of drinks, I'm not drunk… I'm sad", the DJ giggled after a listener sent a text to producers suggesting that she was drunk.
A colleague soon took over and announced: "Paula is not feeling well with it being her last afternoon show and has gone home."
White, who has been in the broadcasting industry for 20 years, was due to begin a new slot with the BBC on Saturdays.
A BBC Spokesperson told RadioToday.co.uk: "Paula White was unable to continue on-air yesterday as she was under par. Fortunately Denholm Siergertz was on hand to take over the show and listeners were able to enjoy the usual lively mix of chat and local news.
"We can confirm that this was Paula's last show in the afternoon weekday slot on BBC Radio Stoke."
