30 years ago this week, the Police were unquestionably the biggest band in rock.
With their then-recent album, Synchronicity, in the midst of a 17-week, non-consecutive run on top of the Billboard 200 album charts, the song's lead single, "Every Breath You Take" was also on top of the Billboard Hot 100 as part of its eight week reign.
Synchronicity, which was released on June 1st, 1983, featured 36 different cover variations in its photos and blue, red, and yellow colored stripes. The album included four Top 20 singles -- the band's sole chart-topper, "Every Breath You Take" (#1), "King Of Pain" (#3), "Synchronicity II" (#16), and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" (#8).

Once during their Zenyatta Mondatta tour in Minneapolis and again during their reunion tour in 2007 at Bonnaroo. Long live The Police!! Here is some early footage of the band live...
