Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day for most Americans. In a survey conducted by "Parade" magazine and SheKnows.com, most say they never skip breakfast, and 77 percent add that they usually have it at home.
Bacon was voted the best breakfast food of all, and the classic combination of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast was voted America's breakfast meal of choice. Nearly three-quarters admit they prefer a hot, savory meal in the mornings instead of a bowl of sugary cereal.
More than half also say they brew their coffee at home. Only six percent usually purchase their coffee after leaving for the day. In addition, 47 percent read the newspaper at the breakfast table.
With my wacky morning schedule, a big plate of bacon and eggs is not possible! A protein bar, apple and turkey sandwich are the foods of choice that go into my lunch (breakfast) box each morning at oh-dark-thirty.
