1059 The Rock, in cooperation with Rhino Records and AirPlay Direct, brings you a one-hour radio special celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Doors' L.A. Woman album. Hosted by esteemed journalist Ben Fong Torres, the special features new music and commentary from Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore who take you behind the scenes of this historic release.
L.A. Woman would become the final album with Jim Morrison in the lineup, released just a few months before his death. The album would rise to number 9 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts. The newly-released, 2-disc set on Rhino Records features unreleased alternate versions of The Doors classics from L.A. Woman. The release of the never-before-heard song “She Smells So Nice” marks the first new release for The Doors in over 40 years.
