Time-Life Presents The Beatles with Tony Sheridan First Recordings Radio Special
1059 The Rock, in cooperation with Time-Life Music, brings you a one-hour radio special celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' first recording sessions in Hamburg, Germany. Host Zack Martin relives these earliest of Beatles sessions through both performances and interview clips.
In 1961, The Beatles consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and drummer Pete Best. Music executive (and recording artist in his own right) Bert Kaempfert from Polydor Records discovered them performing in a German nightclub and invited them to audition for recordings. Local singer Tony Sheridan was brought along as a featured vocalist.
The result is a 2-CD set called "Time-Life Presents The Beatles with Tony Sheridan First Recordings" now available online and in retail outlets. Both the mono and stereo versions of each track are included as is a collectors booket with rare photos and letters.
So take a listen to The Beatles - BEFORE Ed Sullivan, "A Hard Day's Night" and Beatlemania - remastered and sounding better than ever.
